Default Twin Pump Question

I just ordered the racetronics pump and hotwire kit for my turbo car. I bought another pump to run both of them. My question is am I going to be able to get by using the one hotwire kit to power both pumps? I planned on using either a Hobbs switch or a boost controller like eboost 2 to trigger the second pump. I did alot of reading and could not come up with a definitive answer. My setup is a 370 with a 78mm turbo.

I would use a second relay triggered by the hobbs switch to activate the second pump. You would have to run new power wires to the second pump. So aside from some minor wiring changes at the tank, the hotwire kit would be unchanged.

1 hot wire kit is marginal for dual pumps. You should run separate power to these for best results.

I offer a complete kit for that application that will be plug-n-play.

Another issue is the pump from the original Racetronix kit can not be used for the dual pump setup because of the jet pump assembly.

Dave,
The Racetronix single wiring harness is a good piece, but anything you can do to get more voltage to the pumps, the better you are. Just as the factory small wires for the stock pumps can be improved upon, a dedicated dual harness is an improvememt over a single harness. Also the current draw of 2 pumps is worth noting when you look at relay sizing & fues/fuseholder capacity.

Also the single tank connector is not designed to carry the current of 2 pumps through 1 single pin. This can be a failure point as well.

A lot of work went into these kits to provide quality, reliability & the least amount of installation labor possible. I see a lot of homebrewed setups that range from marginal to downright dangerous. Very few of them impress me.

A fuel tank is no place for rubber fuel injection hose, standard plastic jacketed wire, crimp connectors or any type of silicone sealer inside of a gas tank or anywhere in contact with fuel. Fortunately, no one had been seriously injured or killed from this sort of misapplication.
