Just for ***** and giggles I went onto a sponsors site and selected the options that they offered on list for the moser 9"(not the M9, standard 9") and total came out to $3235...from Midwest I paid just over $3500 and for that extra $265 or so I got a new torque arm mounted to the housing, a chromoly driveshaft, chromoly LCAs, upgraded larger bearings on the billet pinion, drilled axles, a much lighter rear end and a better design. IMO its well worth it, just shop around and see what works for you, you will save money by comparing prices rather than just calling a place and ordering.

OK guys, If you have the Midwest fab9" then please pm me with what you ordered from Eric. Will I need to go with the backbrace? also what length driveshaft? Does Eric offer a driveshaft loop? I would like to go tunnel mounted torque arm, not trans mounted. anyways, pm me with some info to help with my choices. thanks guys

Well my car is like yours, mainly street driver with about two trips to the track a year. My Strange 12 bolt has held up fine. I cut mid 1.6s. It wines but that doesn't bother me, I'm used to it. 9 inch would be nice you'd never have to worry bout it. For a 9 inch I'd go Moser. Fab'd 9s use body mounted torque arms and I absolutely hate those. Only downside to the Moser 9 for me would be the extra weight. All in all I like my Strange 12, lighter and more efficient and no problems yet.

the Strange 12 bolt is a great rearend in the correct application.

as far as the fabricated 9 inch, the M9 torque arm is mounted to the trans crossmember witrh a solid mounted slider link, and has height adjustment holes. this is the only version available.

the Midwest Chassis & Performance fabricated 9 inch rearend offers two different torque arms. long torque arm version attaches to the trans crossmember. short arm version attaches to a crossmember that mounts where the original tunnel brace was bolted in. the short arm is a proven working design and has no adverse affect due to it being mounted to the floor. both versions use a Aurora brand teflon lined heim joint at the front and attach to the crossmember with a 4 hole height adjustable pivot link. the pivot link is available in poly bushed(standard street design) or solid bushed(race applications). both versions have several choices of crossmember design to fit your specific application and customs are available if need be.

Thanks Eric!

Burkhart fabricated 9" hands down. I hate lockers, if it's a mostly street application then go with a clutch style posi. If it's a track ***** that sees the street sometimes, get a spool. My $.02. I like the Burhart housing over the others because of the stock style torque arm mounting location. Keeps me in the stock suspension classes. Plus Chuck and Steve are great to work with. I'm running their 9" with a spool.

A lot of guys complain about having a whine in their rears. This is mainly because of a backlash problem. I'm plus one for the Strange 12 bolt with 4.11's!

I have the Moser M9, So far no leaks, no funny vibrations, and no problems with clearance. I also had it shortened a .5 on each side. I didn't have to do the BFHM. And I run a 275 tire but would even get away with a 315.

The only grip I have, is since it is purely a drag setup, it is hell out on the streets. But thats a given.

Do it right the first time. Go with a 9"..

I agree, either go with a nine inch or the M9 rear. Bob

Sorry to say but ford did do something right. designed an excellent r-end. I say go for the 9 inch or Fab. Also if you change your gearing it is a lot easier in a 9 than a 12.

I'd go with the Strange or Moser 9". My Moser 12-bolt whines like a bitch at most speeds and clanks like a mother going around turns, especially in neutral. My brother has the same setup and has the same issues, although his is a LITTLE bit quieter than mine. But that's probably because I launch like crazy at the track on bias plies and he stays on the Nittos and runs wuss times.

A Strange 12 bolt will whine to, there are a lot of people on here with Strange 12 bolts that can attest to that. The nine inch is the way to go! Bob
