Problems with 12 bolt and driveshaft mating! hey fellas I have a moser 12 bolt going in a 2002 Trans Am and I need to know why the stock u-joint straps and bolts will not work on the 12 bolt yoke.
i researched this a bit and it seems there is a u-joint conversion you must buy for it...i just want to make sure this is the fix for the car before i send my mechanic off to buy it (im in iraq)...thanks alot

ok we have identified the 1310/1350 converison from napa....we ordered it and now we just need to know how to bolt the DS up to the rear end....any help will be apprieciated!

hey bob i got the precision u joint from summit that is 1310/1350 conversion this is the same thing as far as im tracking right?.....the u joint doesnt seem to be the problem its bolting the driveshaft to the rear that is the problem...its like the stock parts wont work....do you have an im or cell i could call to talk about it today...im in iraq and comming home in 3 days and my car may not be done!

i bought the rear used so no retaining straps came with it...i found some online along with girdles ...any advantage to going with either?...im have yet to contact my mechanic and ask him if all it needs is new straps...but i just reread what he wrote me and he said the yoke on the 12bolt isnt tapped to accept bolts.....
that doesnt sound like a yoke i have ever seen before?...anyone experience this before?
maybe a new yoke is in order?
