No you can unbolt the tailshaft and snake it out. It will try to hang up on the gears when pulling it out but you can get it. This bushing is bronze and you dont want to beat it in with a socket and hammer. I have had good luck using a bearing race installer of the correct size and a hydraulic press. The press its needed NOT bc its such a tight fit, but because its a rather delicate piece and the press provides a smooth application of force. It could be done without a press if needed, but you would run the risk of damaging the new bronze bushing IMO.

If it was loose or excessively worn, then yes I could see that as possible. There is actually an upgraded bushing you can get from a sponsor here thats about $50. It has more surface support area for the DS yoke. I think its made by Rockland or something. I cant remember and I was doing it for a friend so I didnt know a lot of the details.

I am still schasing this 85MPH vibe that gets worse the faster you go. I just put a new tailshaft bushing in. The tires were re-balanced and the PST DS was rebalanced. DS angles are equal too. WTF else is left?

Subscribing, I am part of this horrible club, balanced wheels, balanced DS, fresh built rear end..... Still no end to the 110 MPH + vibration. Bad thing is it started when the rear end was built and I put in some used Moser axles, I just discovered that one of them is bent so im hoping that is what the problem is. I have about 4 spare axles at home but one is bent and I dont remember which one it is lol.
