How to determine a 3 or 4 chan.
Quick question:
How can I determine if a rear end is a 3 or 4 channel if all i'm looking at is the rear by itself? Only way I know how differentiate is to see if the car has a tcs button on the dash. But the axle I'm looking at is standalone from an unknown transam.
Do the numbers on the rear tell me anything?
Thanks!

Picture the rear in the car. A four channel will have either a sensor or a hole for a sensor on each brake backing plate right under the axle.
A three channel will have either a sensor or a hole for a sensor right on top of the center section.
These holes are all about 7/8" in diameter.
If the brake rotor is off a four channel will have silver reluctor wheels behind the axle flanges.
If it has drums it's not a four channel.
