they tend to fit tight on the studs. I lift one side up with a screwdriver a touch then work a screwdriver on the other side...work it up incrementally

I used RTV with no gasket. I'm trying to wedge a screwdriver between the center section and the housing, but it only digs into the center section. Hope I won't have to pound out the housing studs.

guess you sealed it up a little too good

got a junk screwdriver that you can sharpen? sounds like the problem is you're trying to drive a blunt object into a tight space...

Once the axles are pulled out, it should come right out right?

Right, the only thing keeping it in will be the studs.

That's what she said, also.

Yep, pull the axles, then pry it out and be ready to catch it when it gets to the end of the studs scared me both times I did it under the car but the iron case is a bit heavier than the aluminum though. Sharpening a screwdriver to get in there sounds like a good idea.
