Default My Midwest Chassis Extreme Duty 9"

Hey guys, here are some pics of my new Midwest Chassis 9".
This is a custom setup designed for extreme hp and use.
Here is a rundown...
Red powdercoat
Tow hook mount
Wheelie bar mount
Fill cap
Chromoly Midwest LCA's and panhard bar
Long torque arm with transmission crossmember
35 spline Moser gundrilled and star flanged axles
Strange Ultra Case aluminum center section (one of the strongest center sections on the planet!)
3.0 gear
Spool
Strange 3" chromoly driveshaft with upgraded chromoly trans yoke
Midwest DS loop
Midwest race rear sway bar
So far so good, I have it installed, and am racking up some street miles. Gears are dead quiet, and no weird vibrations. It gives you a warm fuzzy feeling knowing that the weak 10 bolt is long gone....

It is around the same weight as a 10 bolt, mine anyways.

That is the custom integrated tow hook bar and lower wheelie bar mounts.

Shouldn't the torque arm be bolted in place in between the two mounting tabs on the rear axle instead of to the side of one of them?

I was wondering if anyone would catch that! Eric has a different torque arm to clear the massive Strange Ultra Case. It wasn't done yet, so this one is one is on the car with spacers and longer bolts until the new arm gets here.

Hey could you get a picture of the driveshaft loop and trans crossmember? I had to cut off my umi tunnel mount torque arm driveshaft loop because it wouldn't clear my driveshaft after the th400 install. I picked up Midwest chassis's trans crossmember but never got one with a loop because I didn't know I had to cut mine off a year ago. I might have to go pick one up.

Stupid question but, did your th400 come with a detachable bell housing? If not how did you get the after market bell housing to bolt on? My th400 house is one solid piece and I want to put the same bell housing/scatter shield on. Thanks

You cut and machine the bell housing off and bolt the other housing on. I already bought mine with a j.w. sfi approved bell but It didn't look that awful hard to install.

Also there is another thread talking about the bolts on the top of the rear main cover that interfers with a big bell housing. I grinded mine but it looks like there is a new cover or you can machine your bolts so it doesn't hold the bell off. You don't want to run with the bolts in the way. Been there done that which cost me a lot of money I didn't need to spend in extra parts.

I figured I would want to buy a rearend once, I held out for a long time, and that 10 bolt never did let me down. I never pushed my luck too much with it though.
I just got done with the trans recently too. It is a Th400 with a J.W. Ultra bell. You cut the old bellhousing off, this bolts in through the pump bolts. The 4 upper rear cover bolts had to be machined down. I did the bell housing at the same time as a complete rebuild and trans brake upgrade. New PTC turbo converter too.
Needless to say between the converter, rearend and suspension. I just dropped $6000 into this car.
I still need AFCO shocks all the way around , front tubular lower control arms, tires, ATI balancer, fire suit and parachute to be completely race ready and legal this season.

I want to buy one of these so badly. I have been holding out because I don't want to spend the money but like you said I only want to buy a rear end once.
