i changed it today. no problems at all. I took it for a trip around the block and did not notcie anything different. So it is till VERY quiet! I will check it next time for leaks. Hopefully it will not leak. I used a gasket only, with a very tiny beaad of black RTV to hold the gasket in place. And i painted the diff cover too 
My question is related: I changed my Diff. fluid once awhile ago and the other day I was at my friends shop and one of his employees was changing fluid in a Diff. and he was using some kind of cleaner he sprayed it in the housing and letting it drip out and then wiping it down.
Is it a good idea to do spray the Diff. with a cleaner or is that a bit much? Also any clue what he was using (brake cleaner etc.)?
