If you switch from a 33 spline to a 35 spline, you'll need a 35 spline spool! Also, with a 35 spline setup you will need a 3.25" carrier case, and of course new axles... Stick to 33 spline, you'll be fine. I have the stange aluminum 3.25" case, 4.00 ratio gears and a spool (35 spline) with the summit racing aluminum pinion support. I used flea-bay and summit racing personally...

FWIW, If I were in your shoes, there's really no reason not to step up the bearing size.

You can step up to the 3.25" bearing case and still use your current axles/spool. You will just need the larger 3.25" outside diameter bearings for the spool, which, if you broke gears you'll probably want to replace your current bearings anyway.
