Need part #s for Moser 12 bolt
I have a Moser 12 bolt, 33 spline axles, Trutrac 3.73s... I dont think all those details matter, but there they are anyhow...
Anyways, My pass side axletube is leaking where the rear brakes are..
I dunno if its the axle bearing or the seal,, But I cant seem to find Part #s for either..
The part # thread has only OEM part #s as far as I know...
So could anyone tell me the
part # for a Moser 12 bolt Axle bearing
and the
part # for a Moser 12 bolt Axle seal?
Thanks...

Sorry that I do not know the part number but I have had the same thing happen. It was the seal. I called moser from oreilly auto parts and got the local part number for them to order.
They were very cheap.
moser is 260-726-6689

You can get the bearings from an automotive supply store. They will not have the external O-ring and will require the use of the inner housing seal. The part numbers for the Auto warehouse bearing (both will work) are either a BCA 88128RA or a Torrington 514003.
The inner housing seal number is Moser Part# 7S151. you can get this seal at your Auto Parts warehouse as well and the part number for it would be CR# 15141.
All of this is assuming you have a sealed ball bearing set up which would be the most common.

The roller bearing you are refering to ... or two piece bearing is probably a Timken set 20 bearing. They are available at any auto parts store. With this particular bearing the seal is out board (wet fed bearing) and the press ring should not be an issue. Not sure why you are having the issue with the axle not sliding in ... wish I could be more help for you.

Yeah the set 20s is what was bought at the parts store. This strange 12 bolt housing has 9 inch ends on it, the seal goes inboard of the housing and bearing sits outboard of it. The press ring that came with the new bearings has too big of an OD to slide into the housing end, just wondering who else has had that problem and what they did to fix it.

A set 20 bearing is wet fed and would require rearend lube to keep it properly lubricated. The seal on this bearing faces the axle flange. The seal in effect seals after the bearing as opposed to a sealed ball bearing where the seal goes before the bearing. I am not as versed on the Strange components as I am the Moser stuff ... Maybe a call to Strange's tech line would help .... not much help on this issue sorry.

Strange's techline has caused more problems than they have solved unfortunately. Whether its supposed to be wet fed or not, this rear has run 18,000 miles with the axle seal mounted inboard of the bearing, and is how it came from strange fully assembled. I'll get it figured out sooner or later.

Does your current bearing look like LSGunZ28's bearing? If it does then you have you have a ball bearing setup. If your axle will not slide in because the press ring is hitting the axle seal then you will need to purchase a ball bearing with the o-ring seal and remove the inner housing seal. This should allow the axle to be installed to the proper depth. Both Moser and Strange sale the bearing that will fix your issue. I am just trying to help your situation, if you could send me some pictures I will do my best to resolve the problem you have with your axle.

The press ring isn't hitting the axle seal as there is not one in it since I'm just mocking it up to get it back together, its hitting the actual axle tube. I'll get some pics tomorrow.

Here is the 514003 for reference.

Like it was said earlier, no o ring provision so you must run inner axle seals.
