Moser 9" users (question)

Anyone getting any clunking or banging noises from the rear when going over bumps? I've checked over and over and can't find anything hitting. Is it the gears?

check the transmission tunnel directly above the torque arm bracket. Mine used to hit up there before the BFH adressed the issue.

It can be the gears,i had a 91z28 with the moser 9" set up and it do something like that.

If your gears are clunking over bumps you have big problems. Might be tq arm or exhaust or something.

i seem to remember the BFH mod being needed, and i think mine needs it as well.

TA bracket is likely the problem. Probably hitting the tunnel no doubt.

Yeah that torque arm bracket on the Moser 9 inch is massive. If you look right above it, you will see it doesn't have that far to go before it hits the floor pan, especially if you have lowered the car. I fixed the problem by cutting a 3x4 inch hole in the floor pan with a Sawsall. I then MIG welded a steel box over the hole. The box is about one inch in depth. The carpet and seat back go back over this floor pan mod hiding it completely. The seat back is soft enough to go right back where it was. You can easily see where to cut the hole by the mark made from the torque arm hitting. Now I can completly bottom out the rear suspension without any banging.
