7.5 rear
I have a 89 chevy s10 with a stock rear. Its really worn out and the seals and bearings are done. I have a 450HP motor and im wondering if it is really possible to keep my 7.5 rear and survive on the street. I wont run stickies on it, but maybe drag radials.
I would weld the tubes, buy a eaton posi unit, richmond gears, pinion spacer instead of crush sleeve, a really good gear set, TA support cover, and add the Zytanium pin.
Most will say don't bother and i know a 9" or 12 bolt is better, but there's other factors that prevent me from getting a better rear right now.
If i stay with the rear i have now i wont have to relocate the leaf spring brackets, shorten the DS, and plus on top of that spend 1200$ for a 9" housing, axles and third member.
Any advice is appreciated? Thanks
