So, I called the local shop to get a price on a rearend swap. They want $1100 for parts and labor, with a 12 month/12000 mile warranty. Is that the going rate? It seems awfully pricey to me. They are the best transmission / rearend shop around here, but that's alot of cash.

Most labor only for gears swaps around here is $300.
