Hey Guys,

Got my new roller. Its a 99 Z28 6spd car. But the RPO code on the door is a GU2??? I thought it would be GU6 being a 6spd. WTF is up with that??

Possibly, someone put a new door on it? The hole in the tunnel and the firewall are factory, so I don't think anyone converted from a A4.

Check to see if the VIN matches on the RPO sticker,also check the transmission RPO code.GU2 is 2.73 I think,I don't think that was put in an M6 car.

Dang... 2.73 rear gear with a .5:1 6th gear. What is that about 600 RPM at 60 MPH.

Check for RPO MN6 = 6 speed or MX0 = auto. It's a good possibility that the door has been changed at some point. My door on my 99TA has an RPO label for a 96 v6 auto.

Well...The closer I looked, I see someone did the swap. So it came factory with a Auto.

So now...I get to see if they swapped gears in the rear or not. I surely hope they did. Because 2.73 and a M6 would be a MPG king,lol

wrong... thought they came with 3.23s. came with a shorter first gear and i believe only a .62 overdrive in 6th

dont "wrong" me untill you check your facts, in 1993 2.73's or 3.23's were an option with either tranmission

Hmmm... The 93 I have had a trans with a 0.5 6th gear. I never researched what they were supposed to be, but it appears it should have had the 0.62 6th. After researching I'm not the only one to have found one like this from the factory. The car in question was acquired from the original owner and is a bone stock 93 Formula, and according to him never had any parts replaced.

I would hate to see an M6 with a 2.73 gear. That thing would be the most sluggish car ever unless it made 1500rwhp. Mine with 3.23's will barely pull itself.
