That's not a dash mounted shifter, just a position indicator...
There were some old Chrysler products that had a push button shifter on the dash, but that's clearly not one of them.
What is it?

Corvairs are rear engine.
That car has a driveshaft and the exhaust is from the front.
But it has a Torque convertor on the rear of the trans Axle with IRS and the only vehicle I remember seeing like that was the old `62-63 Rope drive Pontiac Tempest.

That's my guess and I'm sticking to it.

Ahh from a glance I thought I was looking at engine oil pan and rear diff right next to each other, hence my guess.
