Derek98z, I am trying to figure out if I can get away with running 4.30's on my stock internal setup. Would you happen to know what mph you would turn at 6000 rpm with the 4.30/26" tire setup?

Early 93's could be had with a 3.36 first, standard was the 2.9, early to mid 94 they switched to 2.66 1st from then on. Sucks, and I mean it sucks they couldn't find a way to keep the 2.96 first gear. I run 4.10's, at 80 it's around 2200-2300, so 4.30's should only add 100 or so rpms, but be worth a 1/10th or so at the track. I picked up 3mph going from 3.42's to 4.10s.

Now when you hit 6th gear at 155 MPH, youll only be spinning the motor at 4300 RPM or so. The engine wont be making enough power here to overcome the wind resistance at 155 MPH so you will actually slow down in 6th gear. And if that alone wernt enough of a reason, the driveshaft would be spinning at 8600 RPM. Do you really want that thing spinning much faster? Think about what happens if it lets go at 155 MPH.
