Post a pic of your .030" pattern. I don't think that is a GM gear though and that is why you are having to change the shim soo much.

^ the last pics i posted are with the changed shims, im gonna drop the rest of the shims today and see what type of changes I have.

well guys took all the shims out of the pinion, and have noticed a nice difference. I still have to play around with it. Im leaving togo to dinner and when i get back im going to try and get the right backlash set. I big thing i have notice when i turn it in reverse, im not noticing a nasty ratcheting sound anymore. so hopefully i can get this right and be done with it.
