Moser 12 bolt install coming soon I have a Q about the brakes
I bought the housing and axels used but never used. I have all parts to put it together but im not sure where the bracket that holds the caliper goes. My car is a 97 trans am. Im not sure if it matters. The length is the same. I have to put c-clip eliminators on and thats the hold up. Where does the bracket go for the stock brakes???

You need backing plates. Thats what the caliper bracket bolts to. The backing plate has to be slid on the axle before your have your c-clip eliminator axle bearings pressed on to the axle. The backing plate is also what holds the axle shaft in the axle tube.

I also have step by step instructions along with pictures at this link for the Moser 9 inch, which will also help for the 12 bolt. Bobhttp://www.exoticperformanceplus.com/performance_parts/index.html?item=145

Exotic that does help but it doesnt show the installation with a c-clip elim. on. Im worried about the thickness of the caliper bracket and the c-clip elim. being so thick that the axel sticks out to far. The c-clip elim. is 1 3/4 thick and the caliper bracket is 3/4 thick.
