Default 3.23 to 3.42

I still have the factory 10 bolt. I found a 3.42 rear for 100 bux (guy just dropped in a moser) and I am not running anything sticky till a track opens in hawaii (not holding breathe). Worth the upgrade. The rest of the car is beefed up, only stock thing is the rear.

Boats (if the icon in the sig is right), don't waste your money for that small a change in gears. I suspect your auto with 3.23, so your looking at NOTICEABLE difference with 3.73 or 4.10s! Literally, don't waste your money for 0.19 change.

Icon isnt right, they didnt have a FT emblem. if .19 isnt noticeable then why do people go from 3.73 to 3.90?

Doesn't seem worth the trouble to me, nor would going from 3.73 to 3.90

Gears are kinda overated IMO

I did this because it was basically a "freebie" when
the T-2R chunk was going in (used gears, $50, less
than any of the other parts).

Helped me not at all, just made more traction-limited
and a couple of hundred RPM higher on the Interstate.

I'd say you're better off building torque, than trading
RPM for it.

Admittedly I'm not an expert of much but maybe a tenth of a second for the gear change to me doesn't seem worth it. IF you get the gears for free and can do the work yourself, then go for it. If you're paying someone to do it, jump up 3 or 4 increments. THEN it's worth it. I got a deal when going from 3.43 to 4.30 and LOVE it. I've got gear whine, but it's worst at 48-52 mph. . . So I don't go that speed Anything else I can't hear over the exhaust
