Is anyone running the Strange S60. Good? Bad?
I have been having an issue with my stock rear end, driveshaft and a nasty vibe (shudder0 between 1200 and 2000 rpm. To rectify this, I have decided to just go ahead and take out the stock 3.42 10 bolt and replace it wiith a Strange S60 and new drive shaft.
Anybody out there running a similar gear and rear end and if so what has your experience been ---- both good (totally satisfied) and bad (nightmare stories too).
Also can any users tell me if there are any idiosyncrasies I will have to get used too?

STOCK 10 BOLT REAR END JUST TOOK A DUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This just happened 35 minutes ago so if anybody has put the S60 in the last year pls respond.
PS if you think that there is too much S60 info and don't like the thread don't read it. I asked for people running this product, not people who don't use it but want to tell me what the have heard.

Listen here mr intercooler, why are you responding to something not directed at you?
Don't like it, don't read it. Simple.
This is a forum where people ask questions. Please don't waste mine and your time, I don't need nor want to get in a pissing match with anyone. I did do a search but wanted to hear from people also.

Well I hope you get the replies you are looking for but doubt you get much. I typed in S60 when I was researching a replacement rear and got tons of threads with people running that rear, how much HP loss, issues, etc... Did the same for 9" and different MFG's of it and finally settled on what was the best type and maker for the $$$ a MWC 9".

Going with S60
After careful deliberation, and taking my driving style and destructive nature into consideration I have decided to go with the Strange S60 with 4.10's.

After looking at both products MWC 9" and S60 , I felt that I couldn't go wrong with either. Some threads say that S60 will eat hp numbers but is more mechanically efficient and will trap higher mph. Whatever. I just want a solid piece that I can beat on for years without a second thought.
I will be keeping my UMI torque arm, I am told it will fit with the S60 and it has been on the car for less then 15 miles.
I am replacing the driveshaft though. I would have done that if I had went the 9 inch route as well. I have heard of to many threads where people do a rearend swap and then are chasing noises that turn out to be a worn re-used part (not saying that the stock driveshaft would cause any problem). This way I will know any noise that I hear is from the new assembly and hopefully it will narrow down sources so I can more easily diagnose the problem or definitively hold manufacturer responsible for defects..
I just felt that I might as well replace it all and while I'm at it get a new clutch too. I am new to aftermarket rear ends, but destroyed two 10-bolts in my old stock 1995 LT1 Z/28 and now this one in my 2001.
Maybe it is because I don't drive it like I stole it, but instead I drive it like I am trying to escape the police.http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...r_driving3.gif
Less headaches,,, fingers crossed. Install date October 7, 2009.
