ok guys i need to know the proper procedure and torque specs for crushing the cruch sleve

just my 2 cents but i would get rid of the crush sleeve and get a solid pinion nut...less to worry about.

tighten, check, tighten, check, tighten, check. I stop at 25 inch/pounds.

yep, just keep tightening the pinion alittle at the time until you get the right preload on the bearings. around 25 inch/pounds with new bearings, or 15 inch/pounds with used bearings.

ok and can i do this with a standard torque wrench or do i need one with a dial and needle

most of the small (0-90in/lbs. for example) are dial and needle types.
