Default Excessive backlash in drive train.

I have alot of backlash in my drive train when I shift. I have traced it down to the diff. I have .008 backlash at the ring and pinion. The True Trac diff has alot of play in it. If you hold the left tire up in the air and just turn the right back and forth there is about .100. Is this normal and if not is there a way to take up the some of the backlash to quiet it down?

IMHO the greatest slop is where the axle splined ends of the axles insert into the side diff gears. Then there is some tranny slop. Most of what you are feeling is rather normal.
