Default Will this survive

I am about to build my car up with a new cam. The car should lay down about 400 hp, it also has a 4L60E, 3.73 gears and torque arm. I know that the 10 bolt won't hold up leaving the line hard at the strip with the slicks on. Will a rear end support cover and/or some moser axles help keep the 10 bolt running. Car is a daily driver and sees occasional track duty. I don't have the budget for a 12 bolt or a 9". Any suggestions if this will work or if I need to do something else.

I think that the R&P and carrier are the things that break the most. So a cover and axles probably won't help, BUT it won't hurt either to have them. It's good easy bolt on insurance policy.

Is there anything that can be done to try to prevent the carrier from failing?

Yea, if you don't dog it, haha. Just try not to show off in front of your friends until you have enough $ to repalce it. No clutch dumps/ nuetral dumps/ slicks , you get the picture.

Power braking off the line will help to keep the rear alive, as the gears will be meshed together. Bob

What about tube braces? Heard that those can keep things from deflecting internally and help prevent breaking the gears by keeping clearances in spec (or at least closer).
