9'' driveshaft issues?
iam having a problem with driveshaft lenghts, some people say the stock is 41'' and sum say its 41 1/2'' iam getting ready to order a driveshaft for my t56 9'' car but i havent bin able to measure diveshaft lengths do to i dont have my 9'' in the car right now. does any one have the correct lenth from center to center of the u-joint for a t56 to a 9'' with a 1350 yoke. any help appriciated thanks matt

The nine inch driveshaft length typically needs to be one inch longer than the 10 bolt/12 bolt length. The link above is to the PST driveshaft we sell, with the length option. Bob

well ive did some of my homework yesterday and noticed my 98 t56 transam aluminum driveshaft is 41'' center to center and i found my old 95 camaro z28 auto driveshaft and its 41.5'' center to center, now when i get a custom driveshaft made since is has to be 1'' longer do i get a 42'' or 42.5'' anyone eve rhad this problem or do i just go 1'' longer from what the original driveshaft was in my car 41''? any help would be apprciated thanks matt

Exactly. Make sure that you have the suspension loaded when measureing it. Most performance websites Like Strange Engineering and Denny's Driveshafts have a guide to show you how to measure for a custom length driveshaft correctly. Word of advice, don't go by what other people say their DS length is, measure it yourself and get it exact for your car. Not all cars are the same. Otherwise, you could be flushing your $$ away on the word of someone on the net...

I have a moser 9" in my car and ran it for about 5 years with my T56 with the stock drive shaft. I bought the NAPA hybrid u-joint with the 1350 caps for the rear end and stock caps for the stock drive shaft. Went 10's and 60' in the 1.5's with no problem ever. I just took out the stock drive shaft only because I swapped to a TH400.
