7.5 upgrade, with a twist...
Well since ive bought my car 5 mons ago with 52k on it and now it has 59k, my rear has been making some noise. Sounds like regular old tire noise but after replacing the tires and its still there. Also it gets louder with the application with brakes. I plan to change the pads and rotors to see if god forbid that is the noise. BUT if not I am going to rebuild the 7.5, Yes I know it is not worth it but my arguement is I dont plan on building my car up to be a 600hp 1/4 mile car. I have a catback, plan on a ram air with a raptor hood, and thats about it other then suspension mods.
So heres the thing, I plan on throwing new bearings in it, Girdled cover, possible axles or differental (we shall see the condition when I get in there) But for added protection I found a LPW Axle tube brace kit. Has anyone used one of these before? I understand the benifit of it to limit rear axle flex and also will weld my axle tubes against flex. But does this actually work or is it an old wives tail?
