Default I'm an idiot...driveshaft won't go in

So I had the motor and trans out. Recently reinstalled them and started to put the driveshaft in and it's like it's too long by 1/2". It's obviously not because I've had it in and out twice before. The rear is supported so all the weight is on it. It definitely feels like it's on the tailshaft as far as it can go. What the heck am I missing here?

Couple of things... any rust on that yoke where it slides in? Possibly not letting it slide in.

The bigger one is twisted splines. Pull it out and look inside for a twist pattern where the splines aren't straight.

There is some rust on about the last 1/4". I'll get that clean off and try it. The splines are straight though.

Well I got it. I'll just post this so if someone has the same issue in the future. Basically the trans was hanging too low in the rear and would not allow enough room for the driveshaft to fit. I had forgot to put my spacer block back in before bolting the crossmember up.
