Which gears to go with (3:42's or 3:73's)?

OP says drag racing almost every weekend and running drag radials. The track is night and day compared to the street when it comes to traction. A gear ads more than just a good 60', it'll keep you in the power when you shift going down the track. Go w/ 3.73's and move on to your next mod. IMO

A converter keeps you in your power band, gears make it more driveable around town with a large converter.

There are like 3 or 4 f-body guys and 1 girl at the track now with 3.73's and not shifting 4th at the end of the track. They all run the 3.73's because 1 of the guys was shifting at the end of the track with 4.10's.

in my opinion jaws gear (sponsor for this section) has some of the best prices on gears especially gm gears are pretty cheap from them....i had 3.23s that were perfect and went ahead and got the 3.73s put in, also putting in an ss4000 stal...the 3.73s are still a strong gear its when you get into the 4.10 gears with a 6 speed ull be poppin ur rear end...now some say .1 or .2 in the quarter for unde 400 bucks is not worth it but people buy ATI prodampers for 400 bucks and gain maybe .1, and people buy AFR heads for 3000 and gain .3 or .2 when they are running 10s, the fact of the matter is ur gonna have to spend some money to gain some tenths and theres only so much you can do so buy the gears...as for the OP go with the 3.73s and call it done...
