Default 8.8 question?

i am looking to build an 8.8 for my 01 ta and what ive read so far is alot of cuting and welding and messuring. has any one tried to just cut the tubes from a 10 bolt, weld them to an 8.8 center and throw in some 10 bolt axles and call it good, well i mean there might be a lil cuttin to the axle tubes to shorten maybe an inch or two but you get the drift. thnx.

IDK how to contact them. but im doing just that with my 8.8 build... (link in sig) i havent updated it because the stupid card reader isnt working so i cant upload any pictures! but i took an 8.8 center. cut the tubes about 4" from the center on both sides. then i cut the 10 bolt axles to slip inside the housing. it did require abit of machining to get the tubes to slip inside of one another.. (idk if thats for everyone tho) but so far so good! im looking to weld up the tubes this week and start on my torque arm mount aswell. when its all said and done itll be a direct bolt in without ABS...

i posted a reply to your thread SoxXpupPet, but not only will all the mounting points already be on the axle tubes for the 10 bolt tubes, but you can use the gm brakes and all that with out have to drill and retro fit gm brakes onto ford axles and all that. i wish a drivetrain company would start doing this full time like they build ford 9" and 12 bolts you know, kinda curious how they would market and sell.
