Default Rear end rebuild and now serious ring and pinion noise

What to do...just spent a grand on a rear rebuild minus new gears and now there's a noise in the rear caused by what the rebuild guy says is 'ring and pinion noise'. ??? Isn't that supposed to be part of the rebuild? I did just spend a grand to get it fixed. He says it needs to be adjusted. I'm not spending another dime to do this as a grand should have done the trick and should be part of the 'rebuild' i.e. new bearings, one new axle, etc. He didnt' replace any gears. I think I'm being taken, any opinions or help? Could sure use it about now....

if they were not making noise before, they shouldnt be now.

sounds like a bad install, if set-up properly, gears shouldnt whine. altho there is the occasional set even when adjusted properly, while still whine.

a grand sounds alittle steep, did you put a locker? tru-trac in or something?

and DO NOT PAY him to re-adjust the gears, that was his job to get them right the first time. but knowing he already screwed up, it might be best to find a better installer.
