Default how strong is the GTO rear end???!!!!!

like it says how much abuse can these things take? I know 04's have weaker axles but what are you people running on the stock rear/axles before they break? How much power, 60 foot times, how much rpm launch with slicks etc. etc. I have an 04 cam only that makes 410whp and I want to put some d.r.'s on it and go abuse it at the track but I want to know how hard I can be on it first. Also is anyone breaking the 2 piece drive shaft or will it hold up decently?

They should hold up descent. Its not necessarily the power that kills it its the initial shock of the launch.

Being an M6 you really have to be careful. Honestly after you put on the DR's and go to the track and just try not to dead hook. Spinning a little will def keep that rear alive.
Try slipping the clutch

As for the 2 piece DS I have no idea what they are proven to hold, Im sure someone with an 04 GTO will come in this tread shortly.

Good luck
