Default need help picking the right rear end

sooner than later im going to be needing a different rear end so im getting prepaired. i got the stock 10bolt now & just stuffing it with 410s & eaton posi & im going to run that 4now. this car is going to be used as 10% track car maybe so i dont need to go to wild. should i just go with a 9" or just do a dana 60 or what do u guys think. i found some dana 60s in the junk yard for around 5-600 & one was a ford d60 & the other was a chevy. i have an estm. of around 500ish hp on spray
thanks in advance

if you buy the rear end from a yard don't pay more then $300.consider a ford 8.8. a guy in this section just did his own 8.8 build up with great results.take your time explore this section and decide whats best for you.If you can afford it take to Bob at bruteforce about a moser rear end ,free shipping.

The M9's are very sweet, my 99 Z28 received the very first f body M9 made. I was cutting 1.29 60ft times on M/T drag radials with it. You could go with the Moser housing and axle package for $1050.00 shipped, then pick up a used 9 inch center section. http://shop.brutespeed.com/Moser-9-I...-and-Axles.htm Bob

The Moser 9 inch is strong enough, there is a lot of debate as to whether the Dana 60 is stronger than the 9 inch. Bob

With a good 9 inch center section, you'll have all the strength you need. Below is a picture of my '99 Z28 when we entered it in a televised wheelstand competition. That rear is a Moser M9. Bob

Yes, that is an x-pipe and the exhaust passes mixes at the intersection. Thanks. Bob

X and H pipes are used when dual exhaust is used. A y pipe is used when you run a single exhaust pipe. Bob

The easiest thing to do with one of the above rears is to buy an S60 housing and axles designed for our cars with the torque arm bracket, then install the differential and gears. Bob
