Going to do a gear swap on a 6spd car. I don't want to totally kill my gas milage but not sure if 3.73 will be a big enough difference over the 3.42 to justify the swap. Anyone know the rpm at 75mph with 4.10. Please chime in if you made this swap with your opinions. Its a daily driver and I have a long commute so thats why gas milage is a concern before I get flamed that these caras aren't about gas milage. Just trying to have a balance.

you won't be dissappointed with the gas mileage of an M6 w/4.10s'.
because of the better mechanical advantage the engine has over the car(as compared to 3.42s'),the computer leans out/doesn't have to provide the richness that was required with 3.42s'.It doesn't take it out of normal parameters as the computer sets everything to operate within what the designers threw in as a normal operating range.
MPG is still gonna be 'right foot' dependent !

the 4.10s woke my car up more than the cam did. You wont regret the gears. I DD'ed my car with them and still got high 3XX to low 4XX miles per tank. Just keep your foot out of it and skip gears when shifting on the street and youll love them too

in your opening post, you said you chose to go to 3.42s' because you read it gets good gas mileage for a street car. that's because 3.42s' are behind a 6speed which has an overdrive of .50. your 4auto only has an overdrive of .70,so you'll get decent mpg,but maybe not as good as your expecting. autos from the factory had the optional rear axle performance package of 3.23s'.
