Default Mysterious clunk sound when slowing down and moving from a stop, need help

WHen I drive my car for about 5 minutes there is a clunking noise coming from sounds like my rear end. It only happens when i am slowing down and coming to a stop or accelrating from a stop. Sounds like its coming from the rear end but im not sure. Would a blown shock or a bad shock cause this. I am leaning towards my rear end because i can hear sounds coming the rear and doesnt sound too good( metal clinking sounds). Drives normal though its only when slowing down and accelerating from a stop. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

I'm a total novice when it comes to the drivetrain of fbods, my experience comes more from lifted trucks. But it sounds like ujoints binding up a little. Maybe there is a little play somewhere in the drivetrain, or maybe a little pinion angle adjusting is needed. Just thoughts that come to mind.

mine was just the play on the rotors shifting from the break pad friction.

One of three things is likely: it could be from the rear yoke of the driveshaft if yours is aluminum; it could be brake related - esp. check the TSB on 01-02 backing plates; or it could be the infamous "rocks in a can" sound from the Zexel-Torsen differential.
