Default is this an abnormal amount of metal shavings on magnet?

after owning my car for 25k miles (has 110k total) I decided why not change the rear end fluid since I've never done it before, just in case it's running low from years of use. opened it up and found quite a bit of metal stuck to the magnet. no large chunks, just more than I expected:

didn't really know what to look for but didn't see anything obvious:

anything to worry about? I guess 110k miles of use has its normal wear, just don't really know what's considered normal

Is it just me or does it look like there is a wear patter on the diff/carrier from the pinion gear?

I think you're seeing a reflection.

OP, I wouldn't worry about what you're seeing on the drain plug, especially if you don't see any gear damage.

Normal !
they're not 'shavings',if you were to remove them and put them in a cup with paint thinner/mineral spirits and then let them dry, after the lube and in an un-magnetized state, those 'shavings' are nothing more than steel dust, normal break-in and wear from time.

My old gov-lok looked like that after about 100k+ miles without a service, pretty normal I'd say if it's your first diff service. Now if you start finding big chunks....
