Diff on M6 car from3.42's to 3.73's/3.90's?

Diff on M6 car from3.42's to 3.73's/3.90's? I'm concerned on strength, noise, mpg, accel. It's a DD with h/c and around 405 to the the wheels and we do a little road racing where the 3.42's are lacking.
I don't think 4.10's are what i want, but either 3.73's or 3.90's. Pro's/con's of both?
