Default Broken Wavetrac

Well I guess I will find out how good that lifetime warranty is on a Wavetrac. I'm not too impressed with it so far. 3rd launch at the track and it broke.

How is it understandable? They offer a Lifetime Warranty on it. I talked to them before I decided to try one and they said they had never had one break. I have a street car and don't want to give up the 6-speed or go with a spool.

It's not understandable... until I see how thin that metal appears to be... ? I'm surprised it didn't let go on your first launch with the power you are making... Keep us informed and sorry about the headache.

I was at SEMA in 08 when these first came out and before they were exclusively offered by Moser. I was very impressed by the mfg appearance of it.
The Wavetrac rep as well as the literature stated it was good for UP TO 700RWHP. I thought real hard about getting one but wanted to wait to see some carnage first before spending the money. Guess I'll stay with my 35 spline detroit locker. Sure, it sounds like its blowing up everytime I back out of a parking space but the looks of horror on peoples faces is priceless!!

I never saw or heard that but if that is true that is very weak...I think the Tru-Trac can pretty much handle 700 rwhp and it is half the cost of the Wavetrac

Wavetrac will take care of it for you. We broke one last year at Exotic Performance Plus in a customer's 800+ GTO that we built, and the Wavetrac was sent back to them. A guy from Wavetrac called me and said they were going to immediately beef up the area where it broke. They want this differential to be able to handle much more than 700 rwhp, and they'll take care of you. Bob

Thanks Bob...roughly how long did it take to get a replacement? I might just throw a spool in my car for now. I don't necessary want just another one...I want a better one so if I need to wait longer then that's fine.

Give them a call tomorrow, they may have you back on the road this week with the stronger one. Bob

I'll wait a little longer and see how SS4Luck's rear holds up with his power.

I really only plan on making roughly 750 max hp. Going to be a 80% street car.

As far as tru-trac handling 700 hp..... don't fkin think so... search that ****

Any update on getting a new wavetrac? BTW, how did it drive on the street? Feel like a stock rear end?

ive driven my car enough to know on the street it drives better than stock cant tell its back there everything is nice and smooth, it just pushes you and it always feels like the car is ready to go forward and push. i guess it just all feels more tight and connected.

If the suspension shop would ever ******* finish my car id be telling you how it acted with 6K clutch dumps lol

Mosering Engineering is the direct retailer on the Wavetrac and they are handling my replacement Wavetrac. They have been excellent to deal with. I am getting the second generation Wavetrac which is suppose to be stronger. I'll definitely put it to the test...
