I notice theres a hole on the top of the driver side axle. Is there somethin that needs to plug that? Is that gonna throw axle grease every where? The hole has threads, I just dont know what its for. Its a Moser 9'' That I bought in 04. Was installed in my previous camaro but i wrecked pulled it bought a roller, now tryin to set this up doin the work solo. Any help is good help thanks.

pull center out and axles all apart and get a some cans of brake cleaner and go nuts! Mine was new and i still did it. I sprayed from the end of the axle tube in and then got a rag that was just big enough to fit and pushed it threw with my wood stick from a broom.

you pull the axles out and then pull the center out! The gears are set to the center section so it dosnt matter if u pull it out or not! When is clean then squirt RTV all the way around it and bolt it back on and put axles back in

the side that bolts to the inside of the lca cut it off you will see where it was welded cut close to it and just bolt it up on the outside closest to the wheel. You also have to do this if u have LCA relocation brackets

Putting fluid in the 9 inch....
Before i try to invest time into pulling axles and mid sections Im gonna drain it and see if there is any trash at all in it. Is the only way to drain it by breaking the mis section seal?
That plug on the pumpkin seems a lil high for drainage.

Can I pull the axles myself or do I have to have that all pressed back on?
And just breaking the seal wont drain it?
Or wat about jjust trying to pull out the plug and suction out the fluid...? I can rig an ould breat milk pump to pull out lol

Its not hard. If u have something to pump it out u can do i from the fill hole on the side. But u need to get a hose all the way to the bottom.
Its best just to pull brakes off, unbolt backing plates, then axles will pop pop out, then pull center section out and Spray everything with brake cleaner wipe it all down, clean axle tubes, put rtv around center section and put back on and bolt up, slide clean axles back in and bolt up backing plates and brakes done.

Sounds easy... So much to do so little time, I work for the next 6 days, then im off for 7 im in the middle of a move as well. Im moving all my stuff next week. The plus side is I will now have a HUGE 2 car garage I can do all my work in. I mean this garage is big enough to fit my truck(05 Silverado EXT cab 6'' lift on 35s) in it. Im gonna try to suck it out first, if thats not adequate Im just gonna trailer it over and pull the axles. I may pull the axles anyways when i get it over there just to do it. We will see.
One other question, pertaining to the Slip Yoke. Should there be a axle grease or anything I put on that before sliding it in. I had to get a new slip yoke I bought a liberty 6spd tansmission it has a 30 spline count on it stoke one didnt work, the yoke I got has HUGE U joint straps. That was a pain finding a U joint to match the slip yoke and convert to the 1350 joints on the Drive shaft. But yea what should i put on the slip yoke...?
