Notice SOP Alum. Driveshaft upgrade difference on V6?
Those of you who have upgraded your V6 3.8L from a 1 piece steel driveshaft to aluminum, did you notice much of a difference, if at all from the seat of the pants? Obviously less rotating mass, but is there really much of a practical difference to speak of? I assume you're really not going to dyno more RWHP with this change, right?
TIA!
TIA!

No difference unless you are running up the RPM real
fast. Which I doubt. Maybe more so on the rollers but
not on the street, not in higher gears. But if it's a free
weight reduction, go for it. I wouldn't spend a lot of
money or effort.
But then steel driveshaft cars with higher than 2.73
rear gears do seem to have a higher chance of breaking
transmission tailhousings and I've seen one bust the
pinion yoke. So if you plan on flogging it to high MPH
on the rollers, there's that.
