Default Need the Pros Advise on Gears

Will b replacing the rear end bearings and decided to upgrade my gears while i'm in there. I have an 01 Camaro SS 6 speed with nothing but bolt-ons and 3.42 gears. Car is a DD and gas milage is not really an issue. Thinking about 3.90 or 4.10. Thanks in advance

Go with the 4.10s. It will pull so hard that it will feel like a different car.

Richmond is a good gear, but they most likely will make alot of noise. most people here have had good luck with Motive gears, but if I were you I would look into the oem type AAM gears.

4.10's without question.

The 2.66 1st gear trans ratio needs the rear end to multiply the torque. It helps things such as off the line acceleration and helps every gear. You will have less clutch stress and overall fun will increase.

IF you were racing, like me, I got a 12 bolt and when it comes to a 28" tall tire, a 4.30 will go in to help compensate for the 2 extra inches of overall diameter.

In your case 4.10's are fine. I am not a fan of richmond, Motives or Yukons are great.

Just replaced my rear wheel bearings about a month ago and decided to do gears at the same time too. I went with AAM 4.10s from JAWSGEAR. They are 100% silent and I couldn't be happier with the results.

Gas mileage DID go down, but that may be because I am stomping the gas all the time now lol. My rear tires are now also bald.
