Default How much should i pay for gear swap?

so im thinking that my 2:73s are a bit long. i mean, 100 in second is nice and all but come on. so i will eventually be stalled something like 3000 to 3600. dont want much traction issues so im looking at gm ss/ws6 auto tranny gears which are 3:23s. recommend something else?

I would do the whole deal i.e. ring and pinion, bushings, races, etc. if its over a certain amount i will just wait for a bigger rear but that would be a while. but i hear low install and parts totals so figured id ask and see what the average is to be expected.

damn. if only i had gu5 code

^^^ agree ! Pick up a compatable channel (3 or 4,whichever yours is) complete 3.23 or 3.42 rearend and swap it in a couple hours. You would still have your original rearend as a 'backup'.

300 to 500 dollars on average for a gear swap. just swap the gear yourself. its not to difficult. atleast its not for an 8.8

i agree, $300-500 is what you're going to pay to have someone else do the install.
if you try to do it yourself keliente has a great write-up on how to do it.

if you buy a whole new rearaxle i think that you should get one with 3.42s
