Default Valvoline 75W90 Limited Slip Oil

Just bought a few bottles of Valvoline Synthetic gear oil and it says for limited slip on it, on the back it says the same. I couldn't find limited slip additive to buy just in case, is this oil good or do I still need the GM additive too? Oh and I bought Gray RTV , is that good?

I used the Mobil one 75/90 it has the additive in it already. Don't use RTV, buy the gasket it's only $3.00.....I use the gasket and mine is dry as a bone.

I was using the gasket supplied with my TA girdle and RTV for added piece of mind. I've heard too much about these things leaking after being taken somewhere to be done or leaking after the DIY job without sealant. I believe you, but why do so many people have trouble getting it leak free?

My buddy has the Trick Flow girdle and it started leaking 2 weeks after we put the gskt on.

On my car I have the stock diff cover and just a gskt and it doesn't leak a drop. I think those girdle's are over rated.

The oil is fine. You shouldn't need any additive. As for the cover seal. I always buy a gasket, lay a thin smear of Ultra Black Permatex on both sides and tighten cross-wise, like you would lug nuts. That along with clean mating surfaces and it will never leak a drop. Go back and resnug the bolts after 1 hour.
