Default 8.8 build pics with a tq arm mount

8.8 Build is out of a fox body Mustang. I am running stock length for the Mustang and going to run Mustang rear disc brakes. I have everything welded on and have it test fitted besides the TA. The rear end is out at the machine shop getting the TA mount fabbed up.

Question is..... Is anyone running both a TQ arm and mini ladder bar setup? I would like this in there as added security.

what's the difference in length between an 8.8 and a 10 bolt? and what are you doing about wheels/axles?

welding steel to cast iron you have to have the metal preheated so it doesnt crack when cooling due to shrinking. This is my back woods way of doing it since my propane torch is MIA.

2"s narrowed per side. I am going with a 35 spline full spool and cclip eliminators for a stock length 94-98 Mustang with no ABS.

Wells I am not yet sure if I am going to order the axles in stock GM or Ford pattern.

With 2" narrower the 10 bracket fit in the 8.8 axel tubes giving you space for the rear brakes?

You use the 8.8 axel tubes rigth?

Pretty much got it all done, as far as the torque arm mount. I might do some more bracing on the bottom but I got a few in there.

Still debating about placing some more bracing in there.

Looks pretty damn strong on the brace, the only other logical spot would be underneath of the pinion area like the one you have up top.

So you preheated the cast iron with a spot light? Holy ******* ****.

It needs to be done in an oven, and not the one in your house.

That mount looks familiar but not quite like mine. We will see what kind of power yours will take before it twists. Good luck

I hope not lol. I am looking at some more options also. It's just a temporary build until the MWC 9" can be bought for it.

Most of it did not need to be preheated, but some of it did and the spotlight did the trick. I could not touch it without burning my hand and there was/is no cracking between the two metals and I have penetration into the pumpkin.

I know I might come off as sounding like a dick, but damn, your safety is at risk if that breaks. Let alone the damage done to your car.

did you test fit the TA mount? Mine came out of 86 mustang, and without griding down the 8.8 and putting the TA mount RIGHT up against the rear it wasn't going to fit in the tunnel, but I have seem some rangers with more room on the driver side for the ta mount to be offset like that
