Default Rear end help?!?!

Hey you guys i have a 00 camaro SS and bought a rear end the other day thinking it was a gm 10 bolt for my car well i got ripped off and it turned out to be a rear end off of a 97 or older camaro rear end will this rear end still work in my car???

depends on how much '97 or older'.
if your car has ABS only,then that rearend needs to be from an ABS only car.
if your car has ABS and Traction Control,then that rearend needs to be from a ABS & TC car.
what about rearend gear ratios,rearends have 2.73,3.08(V6 and typically no posi),3.23,& 3.42.

:Hi,
the number on the rear housing should give you the ratio. If not spin the axle one revolution/count revolutions of u-joint and you have your ratio.
2 3/4 turns 2.73
3 1/4 turns 3.23
3 1/2 turns 3.42
3 3/4 turns 3.73
