Default What type of gears

I am going to put some 4.10's in my WS-6. I want to know what everyones opinion is on the best gears. Long lasting & quiet. Any responses will be great. Thanks ahead of time.

I have genuine GM 4.10, stock engine.

The gears were dead silent for about 1 and a half year (daily driver, 50+ passes with street tires).

After only 20 passes with BFG drag radials they started to whine. Since then, they whined more and more. But no trouble other than that.

Big fun to drive in city/highway!

I have 4:10s also. I'd recommend them if you want a basic bolt-on car. 3.73s if you go more than that. I have spray on my ws6 m6. In between spraying and shifting it's a full time job.

Running GM 4.10's no noise while driving, maybe an occassional whine in reverse. Thinking about running a 3.73 for the highway.

I have GM 4.10s and they are quiet (and fun as all hell!)

IMO 4.10s are ideal for the highway. With a double overdrive on our M6s your rpms are not high at all. Plus you have plenty of passing power is 6th, so you almost never NEED to shift on the highway (WANT is an entirely different story!!!) I just don't see wasting the time and money going to 3.73s (from 3.42s). Just not enough difference.
