Default 3.73 or 3.90?

how are 3.90s for occasional quarter mile use?

i have a 2002 trans am auto with 275-40-17 kumho ecstca xs, long tubes, true duals. the car is my daily driver and im looking for a little quicker acceleration but dont want the 4.10s. im trying to decide between 3.90 and 3.73.

and this would just be for screwing around on the streets.

I am all for the wild gears for sure, but if you are planning on keeping street tires, you may end up with traction issues with the 3.90s. Not that you won't with 3.73's either, but the shorter gears will just make it worse.
