Default 9" gears???

Getting a 9" with my tax return should i do 3.73s or 3.90s? its a head and cam car with a 100-150 shot i do mostly street driving so it will be on a 26" tire besides at the track it will be either a 26 or a 28, my car is a m6 so i was hoping i could get away with some 4.10s but i think i will be running out of gear by the end of the 1/4.

4.10/26" may be tight, where is your limiter?

4.10s and 28s would be a nice combo for the spray. 28 mite be more consistent also being with a taller side wall and a M6 they take the hit a little better.

I like the 3.73 with the nos, short shift aleast 500rpm sooner.the shorter tire is less spinning mass and gives a better gear ratio for the 1/8 mile.if you are running a slick the 28 in slick will grow a little on the top end.

Hmm i love my 4.10s in my 10 bolt maybe i will try the 4.10s and a 28" tire and see how it goes... I have the torquer v2 so i will probably set the limiter around 6600 or so, i will be launching off a 2-step right into the nitrous so a 28" tall tire might help me there too

I would go with 3.75 gears so that you don't run out of gear. The last thing you want to do is to order a new rear and then have to invest in changing out the gears. My Moser rear end prices are shipped prices, so the price you see is all you pay, and the prices are posted for everyone to see. Here is a link to them. http://shop.brutespeed.com/82-02-F-B...ar-Ends_c5.htm
Let me know if you have any questions. Bob

Thanks for the info but i think i am set on a quick performance housing for now unless by the time shipping is added it comes out to be the the same price as the moser then i will order a moser from you guys... i am only getting 1500 back so i will have to hold off on the third member till i have some more money saved up.

Maroslut2001:
this is the route I chose for a while as I had a stock 3 rd member, Bob is great to deal with, I think about 1100.00 houshing/axles/bearings-, fast service (from order to arrive-6 days ) just a note, remember IF you order without the 3 rd member to order the correct axle count which you are going to run then match up the 3 rd member with axle count
I order/ run 31 count which I think will hold more than I will need

So what your saying is do a housing then get a junk yard third member? i mean the moser isnt much more so that might be a good route for me since i am on a tight budget... How much did you have in the rear all said and done?

Houseing/axle/bearing/tork arm bracket/ shipping about 1050 - 1100.00 no 3 member
had extra backing plates and brakes ( you may use your old ones, if you have 4 channel, TC and ABS, you can also order NEW reluctor rings for the axel if you have 4 channel, be sure when you order your housing that you tell your supplier if you need 3 OR 4 channel axels
I had 2 old ford 9" complete /35x gear, one 3.7x so I had extra 3 members, YOU should be able to buy a junk yard 3 rd member for 1-200.00
but I did buy a used 3 rd member with 4.11/ hard locker for 450.00 form the net a few weeks later I bought a strange Nodular BARE 3 rd member for 225.00 from ebay and install the hard locker/4.11 gear into the Strange Nodular case

I repeate be sure and match you axles AND 3 rd member WITH same axle spline count

luck.Johnny
