Need help understanding something about drive-train setup
It is also my understanding that engines and transmissions are centered in the chassis to avoid side to side weight imbalances.
That would lead to the drive shaft of the car not being a horizontal straight shot from the transmission to the pinion.
Am I correct in my thought patterns?
If I am right does changing this amount of offset a small amount cause issues in a vehicle?
viewed from back or front, pinion comes in at center, carrier assembly is center, ring gear is offset to driver side to allow/accomodate the pinion to come in centrally.
