Yup, I'm in the same boat. I'm horrible at saving money, I'm always dumping money into something. Last year it was my jeep, this year its my car and house. But at least the house I can make money back on that, not so much on the car LOL

Oh well, as my dad has said for years "Its only money, you make it almost everyday" or "You only live once" but he pisses my mom off all the time with his spending HAHA, I guess its just in my genes

Nope, abs was removed a few years ago as well as the traction control. I personally hate abs, but there was a guy that built a 9" and kept the abs

New front and rear wheels, front are used, rears are new (rears were on the front to see how they looked on the color since I have no rear axle)

And my junk, dusty as hell should have invested in a cover

Its still not done, but its close. I still have a few more brackets welded on, but I had some time so I sand blasted the whole housing and painted it. I'm gonna stop by and talk to my buddy tomorrow and see about getting the gears setup. I forgot the damn limited slip additive so I couldn't install the new clutches in the trac lok, but hopefully Saturday I can do that and drop off the housing during the week next week

And the sharp points on the bottom of the gussets will be ground off And I will weld up the backside of the gussets when I finish off the rest of the welding

Nice!

Don't mean to jack, but any more info on how much these housings can take? Mu buddy's got a foxbody 5.0 that he rags on constantly, but he's bolt-on, so maybe 200rw. Does anyone sell the brackets/mounts for our rear end, for fab work?

I'm looking into doing a rear end this summer. Grab a spare one, tear it down and bullet-proof it. Just never liked how most of the 8.8's seem rigged. I like this one though. Looks clean so far.

I'll be curious to see where you mount the uca's to the housing and the frame.

Thanks I appreciate that

I did alot of research and found that the 8.8 is just about as strong as a 12 bolt, but takes less power to run and is quite a bit lighter. IIRC there are plenty of mustangs running 8s and faster with 8.8s. For the brackets give moser a call, I got the dropped LCA mount, shock tabs, and spring pearches (didn't use them) for about $135 shipped.

Well so far I have some axle tabs from ballastic fab that will be welded to the axle by the air bag mount. Then the body side I have a few more tabs from ballastic that will be welded to the frame rail very close to the top if I can get the right angles. I'm worried about my axle brackets hitting my gas tank, but I guess I'll worry about that when the time comes.

On a good note my watts link should be here this week (fingers crossed) and when that gets here I can finish up the welding on the axle and get this project finished up, then on to the front

Been awhile since my mustang days, but the gears offered for the 8.8 are 2.73, 3.08, 3.27, 3.55, 3.73, 3.89, 4.10, 4.30, 4.56, 4.88. I haven't seen a 5.13, but I bet they can be had....

Friday will be 7 weeks sadly I understand that it will take some time since its for an 8.8 and not the 9" or 7.5 that MWC has their jig setup for. I called 2 weeks ago and they said it should ship out this week....fingers crossed. It just kinda sucks spending $600 and having to wait so long, but I guess I'll be the only one with one

The Fays2 is more and doesn't look nearly as good as the MWC watts IMHO

^^^What he said

Well I was going to get some more pics this weekend, but I didn't get anything done besides rebuilding my trac lok with 04 cobra guts Should hold up good now, at least its supposed to. Then I had to fix our 20 ton press so I could press the damn S spring back into the trac lok and make a shifter for my buddies ranger and after that I didn't feel like doing anything else sadly

But I'm dropping the axle off at my buddies on Tuesday, he said I'll have it back by Friday and then I can finish assembling it and start building my upper bars.

So sorry. not much to post this weekend, but next weekend I should get something done, or at least I can post pics of what rolls in during the week

Last weekend my wife took the camera so no pics, but I did drop off my axle and should have it back Monday or so. A little longer than I expected, but no big deal, my watts probably won't ship out for another month or so

This weekend I'm planning on welding in the upper bag mounts and taking off some of the front suspension parts and sandblasting them and painting them. Also dropping the tank and getting ready to plumb my new fuel system.

This week I got my parts from speedway motors...
weld in battery relocation tray
fuel filter
rear diff breather
4 - 3/8 hardline to -6 AN adapters
2 - 5/16 hardline to -6 AN adapters
and friday I plan on ordering most of the little **** that I need from summit and racetronix fuel pump and hot wire kit

I just hope some of my bigger parts show up soon so I can actually finish something
