trying to order gears need help!!!!! i have a 2000 z28 m6 with stock rear end and wanting to put 4:10 in it. im on summit racing now and need to know the ring and pinion size so i can order the gears. it has the axle sizes listed =GM 7.5 in. GM 7.625 in. GM 8.2 in. and the spline count od 27 or 25. i dont know which ones i need and i called to talk to someone there and they can not help me by just my car info. thanks in advance
Its a 7.625. Its the same as a 7.5 also. You need to know what gear you have in your car now. If its a 3.23 or 3.42 you need one for the 3.23 and up carrier. If it is a 2.73 you need one for a 3.08 and down carrier. Hope this helps

All manuals have 3.42s so its a 3 series carrier. 7.5 or 7.625 is what you want.

Hi,01redssa4 is correct series 3 carrier......make sure the kit is complete with crush sleeve/bearings/shims/seals/etc. Master kit and one additive gm and three quarts of gear lube. Breakin is a few heat cycles. Prior to getting into it extremely hard......check leaks and double check torque specs. Be patient with backlash set up to prevent whine and improper meshing.......work safe and good luck.........have a blessed weekend.......captain jim
