Default brake brackets

I posted this in the brake sections, too. I bought Currie 9" for my 94 LT1 TA, the rear was originally for 3rd gen it came with the 3rd gen brake brackets. I am trying to find brake brackets to bolt my brakes to it. My brackets will not fit. Does anyone know of anyone offer them? I called Currie and they do not. Thanks.

The 9" is set up for 3rd gen disc brakes, not drums. I have junk calipers and descent rotors for it. I was just looking to put my stuff on the rear. In some of my research, I'll be making calls monday, I may convert to LS1 brakes.

point is the thirdgen axle ends are the same bolt pattern and offset as the forthgen. difference is the rotors and the specific to year/gen backing plates used.

why dont your backing plates bolt on? is the bolt pattern different? maybe they had larger ends installed and had modified the backing plates to fit

*NOTE* "forthgen ends" with stock on touched thirdgen brakes

Your brake brackets will bolt right to it if its already set up with the flush mount style housing ends. You have to pull the axles from your rear and remove the brake brackets. Then you have to remove the axles from the 9" but on the 9" you are gonna have to have the bearings pressed off and change out the 3rd gen brackets for the 4th gen brackets and press the bearings back on and reassemble. Its not hard.

Here you can see the brackets I am talking about and how they bolt up. This is from 96lt4c4's build and it is before the axles had arrived. This was just a mock up demonstrations. After his axles came he took those brackets and slid them over his axles and then pressed the bearing and retaining ring into position.

Then its a easy as sliding them back into the rear and bolting them back in place.

My set up looks completely different, I'll post a pic tomorrow. My brake bracket will slide off the axle without removing the bearing. My rear has the 9" bearing ends, not sure of bearing size. My stock bracket and the bracket on the rear have different bolt patterns.

Something is not what you are thinking then. Maybe you have brackets for gm metric calipers for a g body or something like that. Thats a popular setup for most 9" guys.
